This Samsung bot is a sophisticated bot with a variety of settings to personalize how it works. For instance, it comes with an "Smart Power Mode" that adjusts suction based on the type of flooring. It can also move in a zigzag or around objects. It can even be able to avoid certain items if it believes they will cause secondary contamination or be dangerous this is a great option for people with allergies.

It was able to handle long hair nicely It was able to handle long hair with ease, with a minimum of hair tangles, and with no loss of suction. The brushes tend to get clogged up, especially around the nozzles. Make sure you keep an eye on them often. The app also alerted me when the brushroll was full of tangles, which is a useful reminder.

Neato Botvac D7

The Neato Botvac D7 is one of the strongest robot vacuums available. It delivers excellent performance on bare floors, carpets with high pile, and pet hair. Its maneuverability and ease of maintenance are top-notch, but it's not equipped to mop, making it less suited for hard surfaces than some of its competitors. It is expensive and recurring costs.

This model, like the others in the Neato Botvac family, has an distinctive "D-shaped" design which allows it to clean along walls and around corners more efficiently than competitors with round shapes. Its turret houses the Botvision sensors that scan and map your home for superior navigation.

Setting up the D7 is easy: establish a Wi-Fi connection, download the Neato app and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the vacuum to your home's wireless router. Once connected you can create your cleaning schedule with the app and select a variety of modes. They include House, which performs an automatic cleaning; Spot, which lets you target a specific area for focused cleaning; and Manual, robot vacuum with self empty which allows you to direct the bot with the help of a directional pad.

When it's fully charged the D7 begins to understand your floor plan by creating a digital map of your space. After the map is completed, it will begin cleaning. This process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, but it can be reduced if you select the Eco mode.

It's easy to tell when the D7 is running low on battery power, because the indicator button turns green when it's fully charged, and yellow when you're near to running out. The D7 has a larger battery capacity than the D8. It can last up to two hours in the maximum 'Turbo mode'.

The D7 is great for cleaning floors that are bare however, it can become stuck on furniture feet or legs and cannot easily navigate up and down steps. It will send you a notification when it is stuck.

It comes with an extended cord that makes it easy to move around your home.

It's a bit heavier than other vacuums we tested, but it's still pretty lightweight and easy to move from room to room. It also comes with a dust bin that is bagless and can be emptyed by simply pressing the switch. The bin can hold 0.6 cubic feet and is transparent, so you can see when it's full.

It didn't work like the Hoover WindTunnel 2 whole house rewind on bare floors, but it was able to clean up litter and rice from carpeted floors. However, it's not the best robot vacuum and mop combo self empty-built vacuum in this category and has a tendency to become less efficient as the dirt compartment fills. This can be a problem if you have lots of furniture or pet hair.

The design is easy to maneuver and relatively sturdy, but some owners were concerned that it was too heavy for this type vacuum. The cord isn't long however, it automatically retracts. One of the features that customers appreciate is that it can manage the transition between hard and carpeted floors without needing to turn off the vacuum.

A big selling point for this model is the QuickPass brush roll that allows you to clean surface debris with just one stroke. Additionally, the patented WindTunnel 3 Technology creates channels of suction that lift and eliminate debris from the surface as well as dirt that is deeply embedded. This is enhanced by a filter constructed of HEPA media and a layer of carbon to absorb the odors.

Another feature that this vacuum comes with is the rewind feature. The rewind system allows you to remove just a few feet at a time, instead of needing to unravel the entire cord. It comes with a variety of hose tools that can reach difficult-to-reach places.

The Hoover WindTunnel Cleaner is good for cleaning floors with no dirt, but it is not as effective with large particles or pet hair. It also struggles to traverse carpets with high pile.
