This robot vacuum and mop combines an attractive, durable design with the latest robotic technology. It docks to an auto-emptying platform that cleans and empties it after each cleaning cycle. It is one of the few robots that have these features and it performed very well in our tests.

Roborock has redesigned the S8 Pro Ultra compared to the model released last year with a focus on avoiding objects and cleaning power. The result is a cleaner and more reliable machine. It has a more potent suction motor and dual rubber rollers on its floorhead, which aid in taking debris off of bare floors and clearing pet hair from carpet. The battery can run up to 180 minutes, and it supports scheduled charging to cut down on the cost of electricity.

The most significant modification is the robot's brand new RockDock Ultra docking station, that does more than empty and clean its contents after each cleaning cycle. In addition to letting you control the robot via either a smartphone or remote and tablet, the iRobot Genius app makes it easy to configure the j7+, set a schedule, and fine-tune other settings. The j7+ uses a bigger dust bin than many of the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tested. This lets it hold more debris, but you'll need to empty it every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have many pet hairs or other large debris). iRobot sells replacement bags and filters separately.

Another nice feature is the front camera of the j7+ that is claimed to aid the robot in recognizing hazards such as power cords and pet waste and stay clear of them. The camera isn't as effective in low light, so you may want to consider a competitor that has an improved camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

In the end, I was thrilled to discover that the iRobot J7+ automatically empties its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal when it is docked. This is a significant improvement over most competitors, which require you to open manually and empty the bag. It's a minor thing but it can save you time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The Deebot T10 is a sleek robot that has impressive cleaning capabilities. This is enough to mop 400m2. It is designed in a way that allows it to fill and drain without touching the pad or getting wet.

One feature that makes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its advanced mapping technology that creates a detailed three-dimensional map of your home's layout. This enables the robot to identify obstacles more accurately and adapt its course, enhancing overall cleaning efficiency.

The ECOVACS App is simple to use, and offers various settings that can be customized. The only downside is that it does not come with the remote control, which some might find annoying.

The T10 OMNI performs a fantastic job of cleaning pet hair. It was able remove most of the fur from my carpets in just two cleaning cycles. It was even able to navigate around some furniture that was blocking its route.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an excellent choice for those looking for a self-emptying mop and vacuum. The mops have the same power as the vacuums and has a more appealing design than Roomba. While it does not have an remote control, its smart capabilities will make up for the lack of one. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleansing cycle. You can also schedule it and alter device settings.

4. Shark ION XL

Shark's top self-emptying robot vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those looking for hands-off cleaning with an outstanding level of performance. The robot vacuum comes with a large bin that can store a month's worth dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the end of each cleaning session for long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums on the market, suitable for hard and carpeted floors. It can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands. You can also make a map to clean your home whenever you want. The robot also does great job getting around furniture and even traverse stairs and rooms that are fully carpeted effortlessly.

I tried the ION XL using our standard debris test in a family space and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It did an excellent job cleaning up pet hair and debris from the floors, and took care of some of the more difficult crumbs that accumulated on carpets. It also did a great job in maneuvering around my bar stools and didn't get in the way of them as the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only downside is that the ION XL can't detect cords, toys and shoes in its path, which means you'll have to clean your home prior to running this robot vacuum if you want it to avoid these items.

The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot J7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not want to spend more than $500 on a robot. It is better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also performs better in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and removing pet hair, but it does not perform as well on high- or high-pile carpet.

It's not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is a great option. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, it can be controlled with an app and voice commands, Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It's also a great price.
