This smart robot mop and vacuum combo is a great option for a wide range of households. It is able to vacuum and mop well, has excellent navigation with both GPS and laser sensors and comes with a variety of controls and features available via the app. It also has a handy feature that allows you to add Cleaning zones for certain areas that require extra attention, as well as Keep Out zones that you don't want it to move. It also gets software updates, just like all Roomba products, that make it better over time.

It's expensive but it's also among the most advanced robot vacuums ZDNet has tested. It's equipped with a powerful battery that can clean a large area in less than two hours, and it can switch between mopping and vacuuming with the press of one button. And, unlike other self-emptying robots that require you to empty the dust bin after each run, it automatically emptys itself into an even larger waste container on top of its charging dock.

It also has many other features, including intelligent obstacle avoidance, which utilizes a camera along with processor-powered smarts in order to identify obstacles. It's not often tripped or stuck during a cleaning process. In my tests, it was the best at avoiding objects like power cables. It's not as reliable at detecting pet waste or other dangers.

2. Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8

While Anker-owned Eufy has earned a name for itself in low-cost robot vacuums it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model that could also mop. The laser navigation is the most important feature of this machine. The X8 uses a laser mapping system that is more accurate than the previous Eufy devices. It also takes significantly less time to construct an accurate picture of your space and stores multiple maps, which is ideal for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to easily throw debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. Its tyres are adept at hugging edges and corners, despite being circular. It's not a great kitty litter scooper, however, with our tests showing it can only remove about 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

The basic mopping mode uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is a good option for spills that are not too large but you cannot control how much water it uses and this will reduce its effectiveness for more severe staining. It does a good job at picking up hair from pets. It has a higher percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.
