The Combo j7+, just like all Roomba models, is a pro in sucking up dirt. Its smart navigation is bolstered by iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision, which allows the bot to detect common objects in its path--such as cords or pet waste--and stay clear of them completely. The iRobot Combo j7+ is capable of avoiding furniture, like chairs that are tall and have backs that can trap the robot underneath them.

When the iRobot Combo j7+ detects that it is on a surface which needs to be cleaned, a robot arm lifts and swings the mopping pad beneath it. It's a highly user-friendly system, and it performed flawlessly during my tests. It was unable to remove water-based liquids such as juice or wine. The mopping pad is washed and reusable.

The iRobot Combo's front camera is also useful. It can detect hazards such as power cords or pet waste and will stay clear of them to ensure thorough cleaning. This feature works better than the cameras found on other robot vacuums that tend to get caught up in things like rug tassels. It's worth noting that the iRobot Combo ju7+'s front camera is susceptible to blind spots and could miss certain items.

The iRobot Combo ju7+ is expensive, however it performs well enough to justify the price. It has a high rating from customers, who like its smart features. It also has a magnetic strip can be used to block off areas that the robot isn't capable of reaching like rooms that have a lot of cables.

However, the robot isn't equipped with other aspects that are expected of an item of this kind. While the mops do an excellent job, their maximum running time is 60 minutes and is less than we'd like to see on a premium product. It also doesn't automatically empty itself into the charging station or follow up a mopping session with a quick vacuum.

It's an excellent choice for those who live in large houses because the mapping and cleaning processes are quick and efficient. The app is easy to use and you can even set time frames for when it will operate. You can still use the remote to control it if you don't want to use a strong WIFI connection.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision isn't cheap, but its many intelligent features make the difference. Its live home monitoring feature is amazing, and it also looks great. It's a great option for families with children or pets, or anyone who wants to monitor their home while away. Many people who own an automated mop and vacuum say that they are amazed by how their floors improve after starting to use them regularly.

Roborock S7 Max Ultra

Roborock's latest robot vacuum and mop combo self-empty, the S7 Max Ultra ($1299 at Amazon) is a great upgrade over the already excellent S6 and S7 models. It adds a host of beneficial features, including more aggressive mopping and a higher-powered suction (up to 5,100Pa, compared to earlier models which had a lower power of 2,400Pa). It also boasts precise lidar navigation that works like radar in 3D that is, it can identify things such as chair legs, baseboards, and furniture legs to expertly move around them. It can also create customized cleaning routines that you start by pressing the screen, for instance, an "After Meal mode" that intensively vacuums and scrubs the kitchen floors.

This two-in-one has an exclusive feature that isn't found on most other robots: VibraRise, which raises the mopping plate once it detects carpeting so it doesn't get the area rug wet and makes mopping more efficient. It also comes with a deep-cleaning mode that mops and vacuums carpets in one go and removes more dust and dirt than spinning mops can. The app can be used to schedule weekly cleanings, or to clean on the spot.

While the S7 Max Ultra does a great job at its intended tasks, it's not without drawbacks. The most notable is the high cost. It's also the most expensive robot mop and vacuum combo I've ever reviewed. The other issues are not specific to this particular model but more typical of robotic vacuums as a whole It isn't able to handle large spills and, sticky messes well.

The S7 Max Ultra can be easily set up: simply connect it to your computer, connect it to your smartphone via Wi Fi and start cleaning. Once you've completed that, you can customize the settings of the app, such as setting no-go zones, and scheduling cleanings.

Its remarkable obstacle avoidance is a further plus. During testing, it only encountered two snags in tight areas, which is superior to the S6 MaxV's three tries and the X1 Omni's four attempts. The app allows you to mark an object as temporary obstruction and the S7 Max Ultra ignores it in future cleanings.

Narwal Freo

The Narwal Freo is one of the few robots that integrates vacuuming and mops in its design. It's also one of the less expensive combo bots in our review. The Freo's impressive cleaning performance and wide array of options for customization makes it an excellent choice for any home that requires a combination cleaner. However, its lack of advanced obstacle avoidance and a polished app tempered our enthusiasm for this model.

The first thing you have to do is scan your space. This will assist the Freo identify the area it will scrub. It takes around a minute to complete this task. Once the Freo has a better understanding of where everything is it will be better able to navigate in subsequent cleanings.

Another interesting feature is Freo's ability to identify a room as either mopping or dry vacuuming so that it can be more efficient when switching between these functions. It's also smart enough to know when its mop pads are dirty and will automatically return to the dock for a refill, then head back out to dry clean hard surfaces.

The Freo's ability to vacuum and mop carpets is one of its strengths. The two mops pads on the Freo are automatically raised when the Freo comes into contact with carpet which allows it to use less power and resources while still removing dirt.
