The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It has a great mopping performance but lacks some of the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

During testing it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium pile. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to map out your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the charging base. It can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest schedules that are automatic to ensure you have a hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is set up, you can start automatic cleaning with a single button press. You can choose a general clean that prioritizes cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or go for two thorough maps of your home to ensure that your entire home gets a proper look.

This vacuum robot works well both on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as quickly as other models do and can remove pet hair without much difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot promises it will improve in the future with new models.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing the edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common however we found it to be just marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an improved filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We like the claim but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior of your home. It can then clean your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on higher-end models. The mopping system is even better as its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than the vibrating pads.

It's only downside is the lack of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a major issue when you're looking to purchase one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors. Filling it up takes only two or three cycles even when you have maximum dirt.

As for the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than the high-powered settings, produce low noise, which means you can work or watch television without being distracted. If it comes into contact with the wall or a furniture piece, it gently bumps into it before moving along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries, as well as refills the clean water tank. The app is adept at notifying you when something needs attention, for example, the water tank that is running out of clean or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a full dust bin.

You can also create and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This is an excellent feature for those who have multiple areas of your home with different floor materials or if there's items that need to be cleaned out frequently, like clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac was also one of the best performers in my test, picking up debris on carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It has an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. The X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested, due to its mop pads that rotate to remove tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent as well and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does the job well. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as anything we've seen in a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality mop and robot vacuum that comes with a host of convenience features that you don't often see on robots in this price range. But while these functions are nice to have however, they also make the L10s Ultra more in the luxury category which could make it somewhat more expensive than what some homeowners need.
