iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

This robot vacuum & mop vacuum is not afraid to tackle the stairs, unlike others. But, just like any other mop or vacuum, it can get clogged by the stray tennis shoes, ribbons, yarn, play jewelry or other stray objects.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and create no-go zones. You can also track the progress of your mops and their battery levels.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is part of the mop and robot vacuum lineup, combining the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities with its ability to handle spills. It uses the same onboard acoustic sensors and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that is used by other Roomba options and maps your home seven times faster than earlier models. It also lets you create Keep out Zones (for rooms that the robot is not allowed to enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms it must keep clean).

The robotic arm is the main feature of the J7. It keeps the mop pad in place when it is not in use and lowers it when carpeting or hard flooring. The idea is to not spray water onto the rug and the Combo j7+ does well at this in my testing. The robot didn't attempt to walk across the rug, even though I moved it around several times.

The arm comes with a 240mL tank which is easy to remove and filled. This makes it easier to use as opposed to the mop pads that are found on other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It uses iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology that is more advanced than other systems similar to it.

iRobot Combo i5

Designed for both vacuuming and mopping with the same machine This is an excellent choice for multitaskers. The vacuuming is done with a specialised bin which can hold up to 60 days worth of dust. According to iRobot it reduces the amount of dust released into the air. The i5+ comes with a dual multi-surface rubber brushes as well as Power-Lifting suction to take care of dirt and dust, pet hair, and staining. Simply swap the Mopping Bin with a compatible cleaning product and you're ready to mop.

The i5+ uses iRobot OS, which means it gets smarter as you use it. It creates a Smart Map, which remembers the names of rooms and Robot vacuum & Mop your cleaning preferences. It can then be directed to clean a room or set a timer for the entire area of your home using the iRobot app.

iRobot has integrated the ability to recognise household clutter, including cords shoes, toys, and bags. It will then automatically stop and return to the docking station, allowing it to recharge and finish the cleaning task at a later date. It also supports voice commands with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands - more than any other 2-in-1 robot.

iRobot Combo j5

The robot mop and vacuum from iRobot can be used in homes with hard floors or carpets. It makes use of smart mapping to avoid obstacles and clean efficiently. It also has multiple mopping modes, including a powerful SmartScrub feature that helps clean tough stains. It can also establish No Mop Zones so that carpets won't be sucked up. The dock replenishes the mopping fluid in a timely manner. This model is more expensive than the earlier Roomba Combo j7+, but it offers more features.

Its patent-pending Mopping Drive System applies a pressure to the floor, allowing for more thorough cleaning. It also removes tough staining. It can also get under furniture and into tight spaces to provide a thorough clean. The Combo j5+ is also compatible with the iRobot Clean Base for automatic dirt disposal.

It uses Smart Mapping to navigate your home 7 times faster than before5 and identify rooms with 90% accuracy6. It can even create an entire map of your home, allowing you to clean up any area you like after just one run. It also detects and avoids objects like cords, backpacks, pet toys, kitty litter boxes socks, shoes, and more for worry-free cleaning. You can schedule cleanings for your home and control your robot remotely with the iRobot App.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It has the same great dirt compartment on the outside and a HEPA filter to trap allergens However, it now supports smart mapping. This means that you can designate no-go zones to prevent it from vacuuming those areas again. The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features, including its advanced cleaning system, 10x power-lifting suction, Robot vacuum & mop and three-stage cleaning process. It has a textured finish to keep dust, pet hair and fingerprints from getting on.

It does well on plain floors and is able to clean the majority of debris, but it struggled with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It is quieter and does a fantastic job on high pile carpets. The i3 is a bit more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max, but it comes with a self-emptying system that cleans the mop pads and refills the reservoir of water.

With the i3 app you can set up schedules to clean at a specific time to suit your requirements. You can also use your voice assistant to control your robot and begin or stop the cleaning. It also monitors your home's unique floor layout to give you a customized schedule and cleaning routines. It uses state-of-the-art sensors for mapping to guide you through carpet and hardwood and learns about your habits to improve performance.

iRobot Combo i2

The Combo i2 is the latest robot vacuum and mop from iRobot. It integrates iRobot's advanced floor cleaning technology to make it a great choice for homes with hard floors as well as a few rugs or carpets. The Combo i2 has a combo system that lets it switch between vacuuming or mopping with the push of one button. It also comes with iRobot's latest navigation technology. Its PrevisionVision navigation system is superior than the average and will stay clear of obstacles like power cords and stairs.

Its Smart Map remembers the rooms you clean and your preferred settings. It will tell you whether the machine is in a space that requires a special attention, like a kitchen or living area. iRobot Combo i1

The Combo i1 robot vacuum can also mop. When it senses the surface needs to be cleaned, a robotic arm with a cleaning pad lifts the entire unit and swings beneath it. You can add cleaning solution by removing a combined water tank and dust bin on the back. The robot utilizes the Bona cleaning product, however it can also be utilized with other brands.

Unlike most robot vacuums, the Combo i1 can retract its mophead completely to the top of the robot vacuum brands when it spots carpet. This allows it to vacuum and then wipe the carpet clean with its microfiber cleaning cloths, ensuring all surfaces are spot-free. This iRobot robotic mop and vacuum is ideal for those who want to keep their home tidy without lifting a finger. It is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it with voice commands. It also features smart mapping technology, meaning you can set up a schedule for the robot to follow.

It features a slim-profile docking station that doesn't take up any space. It also has an emptyable dirt compartment. However, you won't be able to see inside the compartment because it's made of opaque plastic. The i4 also lacks features such as the AI-powered obstacle avoidance and keep-out zones on the j7 and j7+.

It does however have an efficient cleaning system as well as a pair of rubber brushes that don't get stuck in pet hair. It's also a good option for homes with high-pile carpet because it can handle the extra dirt and debris better than weaker vacuums. The I4 is also less demanding in terms of maintenance requirements, has lower recurring costs and has a longer runtime in its least powerful suction mode than the i7.
