The WH-1000XM5 sports the same headband and ear cups to the XM4 however it is more lightweight and comfortable. They're comfortable to wear for long periods and are comfortable enough for commutes and longer flights. They're noise-cancelling headphones that can cut down background noise but not sacrifice clarity or clarity. The Sony WH1000XM5 has an adequate amount of bass for closed-back headphones. They provide a great soundstage, with an excellent distinction between vocals and instruments.

2. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

Bowers & Wilkins flagship headphones which is the PX7 S2, have consistently appeared on top lists of wireless headsets since the release of the first generation PX7 in the year 2015. This puts them in the same category as Sony WH1000XM5 or Bose QuietComfort. The PX7 S2 is the latest version that takes the original headphones up a notch with a boost in ANC performance and a fresh appearance.

The 40mm bio-cellulose drivers in the earcups have been angled so that they directly hit your eardrums. This delivers an experience with more intimacy than other headphones with a closed back. This is a bold claim, but one that the PX7 S2 can deliver on. The vocals are clear, and the bass is deep when it's needed.

The PX7 S2 is also very adept at making voice calls. It has a crisp, clear sound that does not drown out your voice. They also provide a fast charge that can get you back fully charged in only two hours. They're also compatible with hi-res audio thanks to an aptX adaptive Bluetooth codec that allows them to play music with 24-bit resolution.

The noise-canceling technology as well as improved audio quality are the most important improvements for the majority of listeners. 3. Focal Bathys Wireless

Focal Bathys is a great option for audiophiles who value high-quality sound and are in search of an ANC headphone that is wireless. They're the French audio company's first-ever ANC headphones that utilize Bluetooth and they offer incredible sound in both Bluetooth mode and when connected to the device via USB for true hi-fi listening with up to 24 bit/192kHz (the headset is also capable of passively blocking external sound through its closed ear cups).

The Bathys are stunning with their glossy finish and swooping curvatures that similar to Focal's closed-back Celestee and open-back Elear headphones. The Bathys are made from premium materials like magnesium and aluminum that make them feel sturdy, comfortable, and well worth the price.

In Bluetooth mode when Bluetooth is enabled, the Bathys deliver a crisp and lively sound quality that easily surpasses similarly priced consumer ANC options such as the Bose QC45. Direct DAC audio mode allows them to be pushed further and makes them an excellent option for true hifi listeners.

The Focal &Naim app allows users to adjust the playback controls of the headphone and cordless bluetooth headphones pairing preferences. The app allows users to choose between soft and silent intensities for ANC. Users can also alter the brightness of the LEDs that are on the ear cups of the headphones, and alter the EQ settings. The app is bare but offers enough functionality to be worth the cost.

The only flaw is the active noise cancellation, which doesn't measure up to the quality of the competition. The headphone doesn't cut out all of the ambient noise like the most rated XM5 or AirPods Max, and its quality of treble isn't as good, with a muddy mid - to high frequency that impedes the instruments and vocals.

The Focal Bathys headphones aren't very transportable. The ear cups aren't foldable up and they weigh a bit more than their counterparts, which means that they're not ideal for use on the road. The Bathys are best utilized at home for long listening sessions or as an example headset for audio engineering. Despite their size and weight, the Bathys are surprisingly comfortable to wear for long durations of time.

4. Sony WH-CH720N

They are multipoint Bluetooth which means that you can connect to two devices simultaneously when you want to.

In my tests, the CH720N's hybrid technology for noise cancellation did an excellent job of reducing ambient noise. There were only a few noticeable small blips while walking through Waterloo Station and London Victoria. They weren't magic sound-silencers that blocked out every sound however, and they struggled with lower frequency noises like the rumbling engine sounds of buses and trains.

Streaming music through the CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth, and it exhibited a low level of harmonic distortion. I listened to a variety of genres and found they were able to handle the intricate interplay between instruments very well. It did an excellent job of taming the bass in rock tracks while keeping the mix in focus.

The Sony Headphones Connect App allows you to customize the CH720N's multipoint connectivity and ANC settings to suit your preferences. You can also choose from a range of audio presets. You can also enable DSEE via the app, which enhances sound quality and upsacles compressed audio files.

While the WH-CH720N lacks some of Sony's primetime features when compared to the XM5 (such as Speak-to -Chat and Quick Attention) they do come with a solid feature set for PS130. 360 Reality Audio, smart controls and the DSEE upscaling feature are all included. The only thing missing is LDAC Bluetooth high-res audio support I believe it would have been a great inclusion.
